PhogHaven Cane Corso believes strongly in the preservation of many of the traditional Cane Corso traits while simultaneously raising stable, versatile Corsos suitable for the modern lifestyle. Our dogs are a part of our family and as such all our puppies are raised in our home and given the love and attention all puppies need to thrive and grow with stable temperaments. We pride ourselves on the temperament, versatility, and utility of our dogs.

In addition to being our loyal companions and property guardians, we enjoy participating in various AKC sanctioned events. Starting in 2017, we initiated our career in conformation sports including the National Owner Handler Series (NOHS). We completely owner-handled our first girls, Myst and Sunny, to their Championship titles and continue to do so with all of our dogs. In 2019, we started Myst and Grizz off in performance sports and found our true passion. While conformation is important to any program, showing versatility, temperament, and workability through performance sports is equally important for a working breed.

Our foundational pair of Corsos was paramount in understanding the values that distinguish this breed from others and shaping the future of our program. A Corso is first and foremost a guardian breed - dedicating their life to protecting their family.

Kenai - our foundational male - was the most loyal dog we’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing. His entire life was spent watching over us no matter what we were doing. He loved all people and most especially children, but no one was ever more important than his family.

Opposingly, Myst - our foundational female and matriarch of the entire PhogHaven program - was the most serious of souls, truly caring only for her family and very small circle of friends. She too was known for fierce and unwavering loyalty in the face of anything.

“Fiercely Loyal” is both a testament of who we are and a value embraced by Corsos.

Years later, we still prioritize our main focus on family friendly, well-tempered, versatile companions able to perform in any venue asked of them. We continue to work our personal dogs in Conformation, Obedience, Rally, Agility, Tracking, Coursing, FastCATs, Scent Work, Barn Hunt (and more) all while enjoying their help and companionship on our little homestead.
